Colored Deaths

Willie R. Joe

Funeral services for Willie R. Joe, about 50, of Jonesboro, and native of the
Friendship Community, who died Sunday night in Hodge, were held at 2 p.m.
Wednesday at the Friendship Baptist Church (Gansville) with burial in the
church cemetery.  The deceased was president of the Negro Winn Parish Singing
Convention.

Surviving are his wife of Jonesboro; his mother, Mattie Cottingham,
Friendship; four brothers, Rev. N. L. Joe and Thurmon Joe, Jonesboro, Edward
Joe, Friendship, and Ross Joe, Alexandria; two sisters, Mary Ann of Houston
and Jeneva Hobdy of Alexandria.
