Former Lois Hicks Dies In Irving, Texas

News was received here Monday of the death of Mrs. Lois Hicks Joffre, daughter
of Mr. Horace Hicks of Winnfield.  She succumbed erly Monday morning in
Irving, Texas where she and her family resided.

Mrs. Joffre spent her early life in Winnfield, graduating from the Winnfield
High School.

Funeral services were scheduled for 1 p.m. Wednesday in Irving.

In addition to her father in Winnfield she is survived by her husband, Vernon
Joffre and a daughter, Ruth Ann Butts, of Irving, Texas; and three sisters,
Mrs. Jo Carroll of Natchitoches, Mrs. Helen Denges of Dallas, and Mrs. Billie
Oakes of DeRidder, La.

Mr. Hicks, accompanied by Mrs. Hicks and Mrs. Carroll of Natchitoches, left
Monday for Irving to attend the last rites.
