All rights reserved. http://usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://usgwarchives.net/la/lafiles.htm ********************************************** From: December 13, 1946 Winnfield News-American Mrs. Lou Johnson, Former Resident of Wheeling, is Dead Mrs. Lou Johnson, known as Granny to her friends and relatives, departed from this life Dec. 4 at 12:55 in the home of her daughter, Mrs. J. E. Strickland, in El Paso, Texas. Mrs. Johnson made her home in the Wheeling Community for a number of years with her daughter, Mrs. Strickland, who moved to El Paso about one year ago. She had been in ill health for several months, yet active in life. She was 89 years, 1 month, 12 days of age and a member of the Colfax Baptist Church. Funeral services were conducted Sunday, Dec. 8, at 2:30 p.m. at the Zion Methodist Church, with Rev. T. A. Brown officiating, and interment was in Mt. Zion Cemetery under direction of Southern Funeral Home. Surviving are Mrs. J. E. Strickland of El Paso, Texas, 10 grandchildren and one great grandchild. Active pallbearers were Frank Fredieu, Harrison Stroud, Oliver Neal, James Strickland, P. K. Smith, and Ollie Bishop.
