Funeral Services For Heard Johns, 64, Held Oct. 23

Funeral services for Heard Johns, 64, life-long resident of Winn, who passed
away Thursday, October 21, after a long illness, were conducted at the
Cypress Creek Baptist Church at 2 p.m.  Saturday, October 26, with the Rev. C.
M. Robinson officiating.  Burial was in the Cypress Creek Cemetery under
direction of Southern Funeral Home.

Mr. Johns is survived by his widow; two sons, Kermit and James Earl Johns of
Winnfield; two daughters, Mrs. Julian Gorham and Mrs. James Franklin of
Winnfield; three brothers, W. C. Johns and R. G. Johns of Winnfield and Warren
Johns of Winnsboro; four sisters, Mrs. Ola Cockerham and Mrs. Ida Vines of
Winnsboro and Mrs. Bertha Goins and Mrs. Hattie Hollins of Shreveport.  Also
surviving are four grandchildren and a host of friends and relatives.
