Johnston, 79, Buried At Dodson Monday W. W. Johnston, 79, long-time Dodson resident, died in General Hospital here Sunday, following a heart attack. Funeral services were held Monday at 4 p.m. at Dodson Baptist Church. Mr. Johnston was a native of Corinth, Ga., where he was born May 11, 1874. He and his wife moved to Dodson in 1909, the year of their marriage, and have lived there ever since. He was a retired farmer. Funeral services were conducted by Rev. Ray E. Prager, pastor of the Dodson Baptist Church, and Rev. L. G. Shaw, pastor of the Dodson Methodist Church. Burial was in Transport Cemetery under direction of Edmonds Funeral Home in Jonesboro. Survivors include his widow, two daughters, Mrs. Jake (Katie) Lee, of Dodson, and Mrs. Lee Ola Swartz of Shreveport; seven grandchildren, three great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. One nephew, Mr. and Mrs. C. B. Johnston of Corinth, Georgia attended the funeral. Active pallbearers were Clayton Norred, J. L. Mathews, A. D. Wall, Henry Harlan, Henry Kornegay, R. G. Simpkins. Honorary pallbearers were L. L. Lee, C. L. Shell, R. A. (page ends).
