Ben Johnson, Jr. Dies At Hospital In Natchitoches

Funeral services were conducted at 11 a.m. Friday, March 26, in the Winnfield
Funeral Home Chapel in Natchitoches for Ben D. Johnson, Jr., who died
unexpectedly Tuesday morning in the Natchitoches Parish Hospital.

Secretary-treasurer of the Winnfield Funeral Home system, and Winnfield Life
Insurance Co., he was a graduate of the Dallas Institute of Mortuary Science. 
Educated at Central High School, he had also attended Howard University and he
was a member of the Prince Hall Masons.

Born Oct. 2, 1944, he was the son of Ben D. Johnson of Natchitoches and the
late Mrs. Gladys Alderson Johnson.

Survivors in addition to his father are his grandmother, Mrs. Nancy Alderson
of Natchitoches and a cousin, Mrs. Billie Lowe of Detroit, Mich.

The Rev. J. R. Stringer, pastor of the First Baptist Church on North Street
officiated at the services.  Interment was in the Jackson Square Cemetery.
