H. B. Frazier and the Rev. Mrs. Mary Walker officiating. Burial was in the Friendship Cemetery near here. Mr. Johnson died at 6 p.m. Wednesday, May 23, 1973 at his residence after a short illness. A native of LaSalle Parish, Mr. Johnson was a commercial fisherman and a member of the United Pentecostal Church. He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Nettie Johnson of Sikes; one son, Elson Johnson of California; one daughter, Mrs. Wilma D'Amico of Alexandria; two stepsons, J. B. Gibson of California, and Homer Gibson, Sr., of Tioga; three stepdaughters, Mrs. Hazel Johnson of New Orleans, Mrs. Happie Lee Dunn of Pekin, Ill., and Mrs. Ruth Aharris of Pascagoula, Miss.; four brothers, Louie Johnson of Deweyville, Texas, Buck Johnson of Wordville (Wardville?), Arthur Johnson of New Orleans, and Leroy Johnson of Jonesville; three sisters, Mrs. Bertha McPearson and Mrs. Hazel Pruett, both of Bentley, and Mrs. Beulah Mitchell, of Alexandria; 27 grandchildren, and 15 great grandchildren.
