Brother of Mrs. Waxley Dies In Columbia

Monroe Johnson, 84, died at 5:30 a.m. Saturday, August 31, 1974 in the Haven
Nursing Home in Columbia following a lengthy illness.

Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m. Monday in the chapel of Riser & Son
Funeral Home, Columbia, with the Rev. Benjamin Green officiating. Burial was
in the Welcome Home Cemetery.

Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Catherine Johnson, Columbia; one brother, T.
C. Johnson, Pasadena, Texas, and five sisters, Mrs. Dollie Waxley, Winnfield,
Mrs. Lillie Cripps, Harrisonburg, Mrs. Rosie Taylor, Springhill, Mrs.
Elizabeth Hyde, Lecompte, and Mrs. Gertie Songue, Houston, Texas.
