Final Rites For James L. Johnston Held August 1

James Lawrence Johnson, 37, a resident of Atlanta, died July 30 in a local
hospital after a long illness.

Funeral services were conducted at 10 a.m. Aug. 1 from the chapel of Hixson
Brothers Funeral Home with the Rev. D. S. Durand, the Rev. E. B. Barton, and
the Rev. Ray Teal officiating.

Burial was in the Atlanta Cemetery under direction of Hixson Funeral Home. 
Acting as pallbearers were Brian Hines, James Johnson, Leon Hanson, B. O.
Carter, Frank Barton, J. A. Brady, C. E. Lasyone, and J. D. Lasyone.

Survivors include his wife, Minnie Lee Johnson; two sons, J. B. Johnson of
Verda and M. S. Johnson of Campti; four daughters, Mrs. Ashton Collier of
Atlanta, Mrs. Aubrey Watts of Las Cruces, New Mexico, Mrs. C. M. Baker of
Minden, and Mrs. Alvin Dyson of Cameron; 16 grandchildren and 19 great
grandchildren.
