All rights reserved. http://usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://usgwarchives.net/la/lafiles.htm ********************************************** From: August 12, 1971 Winn Parish Enterprise News-American Sister-In-Law Of Local Residents Dies Mrs. Omelia Jane Johnson, 85, of 804 Dogwood St., Smackover, Arkansas, died early Tuesday morning, August 3, 1971, in an El Dorado hospital after a brief illness. Born March 13, 1886 in Campti, La., she wad the daughter of Henry and Sydney Nolon Taylor. She had been a resident of Smackover for approximately 47 years. Mrs. Johnson was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Survivors include two sons, Ralph Johnson, Minden, La., and William Johnson, Texarkana; four daughters, Mrs. Ella Mae Longoria, Smackover, Mrs. Ernest Furqueron, Haywood, Calif., Mrs. Hoyt Stewart, Glenrock, Wyo., and Mrs. George Spiers, Carrabelle, Fla.; 12 grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.. She was the sister in law of Mrs. H. C. Taylor, Mrs. W. N. Taylor, both of Winnfield. Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints with Ralph T. Meadows officiating. Burial was in Smackover Cemetery. Attending the funeral from Winnfield were Mrs. G. C. Taylor, C. C. Taylor, Travis Taylor, Willard Taylor, and Louie Taylor.
