Joyce Native Dies In Shreveport

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday in the chapel of Southern
Funeral Home of Winnfield for Pierce Carmel Jones, 58, who died Monday, April
21, 1975 at the Willis-Knighten Hospital in Shreveport after suffering an
apparent heart attack.

Officiating was the Rev. Charles Townsend, with burial in Transport Cemetery
in Dodson.

Mr. Jones was a native of Joyce, a World War II veteran and a member of
the First Christian Church in Bossier City.

Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Ann Jones of Bossier City; one son, Michael
Jones of Tomball, Texas, his mother, Mrs. P. C. Jones, Sr., of Leesville; one
brother, James Jones of Monroe, and one sister, Miss Hazel Jones of Leesville.
