Jones, 72, of Route 3, Winnfield, died April 5, 1967 in a local hospital after a lengthy illness. A retired farmer and school bus driver, Mr. Jones was a deacon of the Calvin Baptist Church of which he was a member. Funeral rites will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the Cypress Creek Baptist Church with Rev. Elmer J. Pender officiating. Interment will be in the church cemetery under the direction of Southern Funeral Home of Winnfield. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Linnie Jones, Route 3, Winnfield; one daughter, Mary Jones; five foster daughters, Mrs. John R. Fletcher, Falls Church, Va.; Mrs. Jimmy Beardon, Hydeville, Maryland; Mrs. Keyes Dixon, Rantoul, Ill.; Miss Bessie Smith, Winnfield; Miss Ann Smith, Haynesville; one brother, Austin Jones, Dodson; and six grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Durwood Jones, Roger Jones, Leon Jones, Dudley Watts, Tommy Moffett, Odell Temple. Honorary pallbearers will be Deacons of the Calvin and Cypress Creek Baptist Churches.
