Jones, MSGT (Ret) USAF Services for Mr. Johnny W. Jones will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, September 26, 2002 at Southern Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Bobby Dunn officiating. Mr. Jones, 78, of Georgetown died Monday, September 23, 2002 in the V.A. Hospital, Pineville. He was born in Wilson County, North Carolina, was a 32nd Degree Mason, Past Master, Georgetown Lodge # 298 F&AM and a member of El Karuba Shrine Club, member of Evening Star Chapter #71 O.E.S. Past Patron. He was a retired Master Sergeant in the Air Force and a member of Palestine Chapter #55. Mr. Jones was preceded in death by his first wife, Marguerete May Jones. Survivors include his wife, Ida Crick Jones of Winnfield; son and daughter- in-law Wallace L. "Buddy" and Mary Jane Wilson of Pollock; three step-sons, Robert Crick of San Diego, California, John Crick of Monroe, and Jack Crick of Shreveport; 7 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. Pallbearers will be members of Georgetown Lodge and Eastern Star Lodge # 151 and 622nd Air Refueling Squadron, USAF. Visitation will be Wednesday from 5 p.m. until 9 p.m. in the Funeral Home and from 8:30 a.m. Thursday until time of service. Memorials may be made to Shriners Memorial Hospital. Footnote added by submitter: Mr. Jones (11/26/1923 - 9/23/2002) was a WWII POW in Germany. He retired from the USAF and moved to the Packton Community on the Winn/Grant line in the 1960s. His many interests included computers, cattle raising and gardening. He was a master tinkerer/electrician/mechanic and helped many neighbors in their home remodeling projects. His many friends in the Community regret his passing.
