Last Rites For Columbus V. Jones Held At Atlanta

Funeral services for Columbus V. Jones, 71, of Winnfield, who died Monday in a
Winnfield hospital after a brief illness, were held August 27, at 3 p.m. at
the Atlanta Methodist Church.

Officiating were the Rev. Edward Smith and the Rev. Virgil McManus.  Burial
was in the church cemetery under direction of Southern Funeral Home.

Acting as pallbearers were Bobby Ray Lovell, Ray Miller, Laviere Jones, Elzie
Jennings, Owen Anders, and Murdock Anders.

Mrs. Jones was a retired brick mason and spent most of his life in Atlanta and
the Winnfield area.

Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Hettie Martin Jones; one daughter, Mrs. Andy
(Vera Sue) Lovell of Houston, Texas; one son, Elmer Jones, Atlanta; five
grandchildren and one great grandchild.

He also leaves two sisters, Mrs. E. S. Martin, Route 1, Winnfield and Mrs. Mae
Miller of Winnfield.
