Jones Saturday Last rites for D. Jones, 49, who died at his home in Winnfield, Friday, August 15, after an illness of two months, were held Saturday afternoon. Funeral services were conducted at the Winnfield Baptist church with Rev. H. H. McBride and Rev. Alwin Stokes officiating. Interment was made in the Winnfield Cemetery under the direction of Edmonds Funeral Home. Mr. Jones was janitor at the Winnfield High School for eight years and prior to his death was for two years employed by the Louisiana Highway Commission in Winnfield. He was a member of the Beech Creek Baptist Church and the Woodmen of the World. Pallbearers were E. L. McGuffee, J. E. Williams, Mike Shetley, H. H. Gill, Judge Cas Moss, and H. W. Stinson. Surviving the deceased are his wife; two daughters, Mrs. Cecil Jenkins of Baton Rouge, Mrs. J. C. Waggoner of Olla; five sons, J. D. Jones of Bossier City, Staff Sergeant Paul Jones of U. S. Army, Tampa, Florida, and Billy, Johnnie, and Bobbie, of Winnfield; three sisters, Mrs. Minnie Zeagler of Olla, La., Mrs. Laverne Fuller of Warden, and Mrs. Bernice Holder of Choudrant; and one brother, P. C. Jones of Winnfield.
