Mr. Jones was a resident of 1111 San Pedro Street, Winnfield and a retired carpenter. Funeral services were conducted at the Welcome Home Church of God in West Monroe, June 30, at 4:00 p.m. with Rev. Doyle Whitsel, pastor of the Church, officiating, assisted by Rev. Carl Owens, Rev. Galten, and Rev. Everette Johnson. Burial was in Hasley Cemetery, West Monroe, July 2, at 10 a.m. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Dewitt Jones, one son, Dee Jones of Cov____, Washington; two step daughters, Mrs. Katie M. Morse of Winnfield and Mrs. Ruby Harris of Houston, Texas, and a number of nieces and nephews and 11 grandchildren. Pallbearers were Joe Hamilton, Mack Bright, Clyde Bowler, Charles Chilton, Mack Owens, and Carl B. Brister.
