Travis M. Jones, Urania, Drowns, Funeral Monday

Travis M. Jones, 37, of Urania, drowned Saturday, August 22, 1970, at 5:30
p.m. about 75 yards from Harvey Bradford's camp on Kitterlin Bay.

According to the LaSalle Parish Sheriff's Office, Jones, who had a history of
heart trouble, was standing up and fell over the side of the boat.  He was
fishing with his nephew.

The body was recovered at 7:40 p.m. in about eight feet of water by Jimmy
Hebert and Harvey Joe Price.

He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Irma Lee Jones of Urania; three sons, Dewayne
Jones, Danny Ray Jones, and Travis Randy Jones, all of Urania; one sister,
Mrs. Jesse Cloud of Urania, and his mother, Mrs. Janie Jones of Winnfield.

Funeral services were held at 3 p.m. Monday in Zion Hill Baptist Church near
Olla.  Burial was in the church cemetery under direction of Southern Funeral
Home of Winnfield.
