Gilbert Jones Succumbs; Rites At Cypress Creek

Funeral services for Gilbert Jones, 69, of Dodson were held at 2 p.m. Thursday
at the Cypress Creek Baptist Church.

Officiating was Rev. L. B. Williams with burial in Cypress Creek Cemetery.

Mr. Jones died Tuesday afternoon, August 15, 1972 at St. Francis Hospital in
Monroe after a lengthy illness.  He was a retired contractor.

Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Ruby Jones of Dodson; one son, Billy Ray
Jones of Mantachie, Miss.; four daughters, Mrs. S. A. Chestnut of Quitman,
Betty Jones of Alexandria, Mrs. James A. Baynes of Valdosta, Ga., and Mrs.
Cois Simmons of Monroe; one sister, Mrs. J. T. Shows of Winnfield and one
brother Curt Jones of Monroe, and nine grandchildren.
