Last Rites For Judge Jones Were Sunday, May 18

Judge Jones, 70, died Friday in Alexandria in the Baptist Hospital in
Alexandria after a lengthy illness.

Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Sunday in the Pleasant Hill Baptist
Church with the Rev. Alson Jeter officiating, assisted by the Rev. Jackie
Aymond and the Rev. Willis Russell.  Burial was in Allen Cemetery near
Winnfield under the direction of Southern Funeral Home of Winnfield.

He was a member of the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church and was a Winn Parish
native.

Survivors include three sons, W. S. Jones, J. E. Jones, and Jerell Jones, all
of Winnfield; three daughters, Mrs. Jewell Taylor of Winnfield and Mrs. Lillie
Mae Maxwell of Winnfield, and Mrs. Eunice Sandifer of Colfax; three brothers,
Clarence Jones of Tullos, Davis Jones and Marion Jones of Winnfield; three
sisters, Mrs. Hallie Kennedy and Mrs. Queenie Jordan, of Winnfield, and Mrs.
Lucy Cunningham of Calif.; 15 grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
