D. Jones Are Held At Zion Hill Former Winn Resident Dies At Home At Montgomery Funeral services for Leland D. Jones, age 80, who died at his home near Montgomery Monday afternoon, were held at Zion Hill Church and cemetery Tuesday afternoon at three o'clock with the Rev. Robert Fling, pastor of the First Baptist Church of Natchitoches, officiating. Mr. Jones formerly lived in Winnfield, moving a number of years ago to Natchitoches where he resided until he moved with his daughter, Mrs. Talfourd Jones, to the Hidi plantation near Montgomery, where he died. The deceased served as clerk of court of Winn Parish from 1892 to 1896. After going to Natchitoches he was elected representative to the Louisiana Legislature form that parish in 1924. He was a member of the Baptist church, holding membership at Natchitoches. Surviving him are six children, Mrs. Talifourd Jones, Montgomery; Roy Jones, Pineville; Harvey Jones, Montgomery; Everett Jones, Shreveport; Mrs. Jewett Titherington, Shreveport; and Mrs. W. E. Howard, Laurel, Miss; three sisters, Mrs. Rosa Jones, Montgomery, Mrs. Martha Jones, Hudson, and Mrs. Josie Gaar, Hudson; two brothers, T. L. Jones, Dodson, and Judge Wiley R. Jones, Colfax.
