Death Claims Allen Jones of Cypress Creek

Funeral Services Were Held Tuesday Afternoon

Allen C. Jones, 78 years of age, died at his home May 12th at 2 o'clock
following a lengthy illness with high blood pressure.  Funeral services were
conducted by the Rev. R. B. Kitchingham of Gansville, who was assisted by Rev.
W. D. Sherwood of Winnfield.  Interment was in the Cypress Creek Cemetery. 
He had been a member of the Baptist Church for the past 56 years.

Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Ella Mixon Jones and six sons and daughters, S.
D. Jones of Mineola, Texas, Curtis A. Jones of Sikes, D. C. Jones and Gilbert
Jones of Cypress Creek, Miss Pearl Jones of DeQuincy, and Mrs. Bernice Shows
of Quitman.  Eighteen grandchildren, five great grandchildren and one sister,
Mrs. John Hearn of Chatham also survive.
