Funeral Services Held Monday For John T. Jones

Funeral services were held Monday, June 6, for John T. Jones, pioneer resident
of Winn, and retired farmer of Calvin who passed away Sunday in a Winnfield
hospital.  Mr. Jones, 89, was born March 4, 1871 in the Beech Creek Community.

Services were held at the Calvin Baptist Church at 3 p.m. with the pastor,
Rev. E. D. Smith, and Rev. N. T. Smith of West Monroe officiating.  Burial was
in the Teagle Cemetery under direction of Southern Funeral Home, Winnfield.

Mr. Jones was the last of the charter members of the Calvin Baptist Church. 
He was also a member of the Calvin Masonic Lodge, which had charge of the
services at the graveside.

Survivors are one son, Earl O. Jones of Henderson, Texas; one daughter, Mrs.
C. W. Wardlaw of Calvin; five grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren; a
brother, H. A. Jones of Route 2, Dodson; and a sister, Mrs. Violet Borden of
Cleveland, Texas.
