Jones of Cypress Creek Succumbs Sunday Last Rites Were Held For Aged Resident Monday Death claimed W. E. Jones, better known as "Uncle Edd" Jones of Cypress Creek on Sunday, June 26. He had been in ill health for several years but was able to be up and died at the supper table. Funeral services were held at Cypress Creek Church at 4 o'clock Monday by Rev. Spence Ray of Nebo, La. Mr. Jones was 76 years of age on April 13th. He joined the church when he was 21 years old and lived a devout Christian life. He was a deacon of the church. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Martha Borden Jones; six children, Jim, Wiley, Dayton, Odus, and Austin Jones and Mrs. Hallie Temple. He also leaves 18 grandchildren and a host of relatives and friends. Out of town relatives and friends attending the funeral were Mr. and Mrs. Gramling and family, J. T. Jones, Beatrice and Clyde Jones, and Mrs. Louisa Lowdermilk of Texas; Mr. and Mrs. H. D. Crain, Mr. and Mrs. Maurice Jones and baby of Ringgold; Mr. and Mrs. J. D. Puckitt, Mrs. Gordie Stinson and Mr. John Walsworth of Jonesboro; Mr. and Mrs. H. E. Machen of Winnfield; Mr. and Mrs. C. Frazier and family and Ora Dell Frazier of Calvin; Mr. and Mrs. Pete Green and baby of Sikes; Mr. George and Creel Bates of Calvin.
