Jones, Age 87, Died Saturday A. M. At Home At Dodson T. L. Jones, age 87, life long resident of Winn Parish, died at his home in Dodson last Saturday morning following an extended illness. Funeral services were held at the Dodson Baptist Church Sunday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock, conducted by the Rev. J. E. Kinkie of Shreveport, former pastor at Dodson, assisted by the Rev. Roy Cumbee of Pineville. Interment was in the Zion Hill Cemetery. The deceased had been engaged in the general merchandise business in Dodson for the past sixty-five years and was interested in the progress of his community and state. He was the son of the late Mrs. Caroline Jones, who died at the age of 98. His wife, Mrs. Minerva Walker Jones, preceded him in death 12 years ago. Surviving are six daughters, Mrs. R. W. Buce, Winnfield, Mrs. John Langley, Montrose, Mrs. W. R. Sharman, Mrs. Kennie Hightower, Ruston, Mrs. A. H. Colvin, Jonesboro, and Miss Pearl Jones, Dodson; three sons, W. A. Jones of Berkley, California, Ira Jones, Waco, Texas, and Lonnie Jones, Birmingham, Ala.; four sisters, Mrs. Rosa Jones, Montgomery, Mrs. M. D. Gaar, Mrs. W. A. Jordan of Hudson, Mrs. Delia Hatten, Oak Grove, and one brother, Judge Wiley R. Jones of Colfax. Pallbearers were A. L. Mixon, A. A. Hammons, C. L. Shell, S. B. Hughes, Clayton Taylor, and J. H. Barr.
