Jones, 43 year old Winn Parish native, whose body was found near Phoenix April 4. Little is presently known locally about his death. Information from the family and the Winn Parish Sheriff's Department disclosed that Mr. Jones had a fractured skull. His body was identified by a military serial number tattooed on his left arm. The parents, Mr. and Mrs. C. J. Jones, Winnfield, were notified April 19 by a Phoenix funeral home of the identification. An official report of the investigation by Phoenix authorities has been requested by Winn Parish Sheriff Sanford Jordan. Mr. Jones went to Phoenix five years ago. Funeral services were in the Sanders Chapel Methodist Church Tuesday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. W. L. Fussell officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery under direction of Southern Funeral Home. In addition to his parents, survivors include two brothers, Sgt. James H. Jones, Ft. Devens, Mass., and John B. Jones, Chico, Calif.; and a sister, Mrs. Arlee White, Winnfield.
