Walter M. Jones Dies; Burial In Roscoe, Texas

Walter M. Jones, 87, of Dodson, died Wednesday, April 9, in a Monroe hospital
following a lengthy illness.  He was a retired carpenter and a Winn Parish
native.

Funeral services were held at 2:30 p.m. Thursday, April 10, at Welcome Home
Baptist Church, Rev. E. B. Barton officiating.  Assisting were Rev. Harrison
Cockerham and Rev. G. P. McManus.  Interment was in the Roscoe Cemetery in
Roscoe, Texas, under direction of Southern Funeral Home, Friday, April 11.

Survivors include five sons, Glover Jones, John Jones, Debs Jones, Curtis
Jones, and Lawson Jones, all of Kilgore, Texas; four daughters, Mrs. E. F.
Barker of Odessa, Texas, Mrs. Janie Coleman of Harlingen, Texas, Mrs. Alton
Carpenter of Dodson, and Mrs. Lester Carpenter of West Monroe; 10
grandchildren and 37 great grandchildren.
