Services for Houston Jordan, 79, of Olla, were held at 3 p.m. Thursday in the
chapel of Southern with the Revs. Norris Curry and S. B. Spinks officiating.
Burial was in Jordan Hill Cemetery.

Jordan died at 2 a.m. Wednesday, October 19, 1983 in LaSalle Parish Hospital,
Jena.

He was a native of Winn Parish, a deacon of Calvary Baptist Church for more
than 48 years, a school bus driver and a former member of the Winn Parish
School Board.

Survivors include his wife, Janie B. Jordan of Olla; two sons, A. V. Jordan
of Monroe, and Billy Jordan of Winnfield; one sister, Marrion Smith of
Winnfield; three grandchildren, three step-grandchildren one great grandchild,
and three step-great grandchildren.
