J. Jordan Held At Jordan Hill Native Son of Parish Claimed By Death, March 29, Buried Monday Funeral services for J. J. Jordan who died at a hospital in Shreveport on March 30, were held on Monday at the Jordan Hill Cemetery. The Rev. J. D. Kitchingham of Winnfield officiated. Mr. Jordan was born in Winn Parish in 1883, and has lived in the parish all his life. He was married to Miss Elcie Tippens in 1907. He was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Eli Jordan. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Elcie Jordan, and seven children, four girls, Mrs. Otho Prince, Packton; Mrs. Rodford Victor, Hinton; Ollie and Audie Jordan, and three boys, Sandord, Crawford (Cranford?), and Rayburn, of Winnfield; four sisters, Mrs. M. W. Jordan, of Winnfield; Mrs. J. W. Liles, Monroe; Mrs. James Rodford, Harrisonburg, and Mrs. Joseph Keene, of Rochelle, and one half brother, W. M. Jordan, Sr., of Winnfield, and a host of relatives and friends. A friend in speaking of Mr. Jordan said: "He was loyal to his family and community. He has been a member of the Baptist church about 25 years and is a devoted Christian."
