Jordan of Jordan Hill Dies Suddenly Wed. 8th Abner J. Jordan, age 46, died at his home at Jordan Hill Wednesday night about ten o'clock following an illness of a few days. Mr. Jordan who was considered a leader in his community was a member of Big Creek Baptist Church where funeral services were held Thursday afternoon conducted by the Rev. A. H. Cullen, pastor of the First Baptist Church of Winnfield. His work as a civic as well as religious leader will long be remembered by all those who know him. He is survived by his wife, who was Miss Beulah Smith before her marriage; three daughters, Mrs. Pearlie Jenkins, Misses Rosie and Lonnie Jordan, and one son, Pierce Jordan; his mother, Mrs. Billy Jordan, four brothers, Chas. Jordan of Colgrade, Arthur Jordan, Archie Jordan, and Houston Jordan, four sisters, Mrs. Emma Smith and Mrs. Tabitha Maxey of Sikes, Mrs. Lottie Smith of Rochelle, and Mrs. Maudie Jenkins of Jordan Hill.
