H. Jordan Is Victim Of Heart Attack May 13th Mrs. Ella Crawford Jordan, 72, died suddenly from a heart attack at 4:30 p.m. May 13, 1962 at her home in the Jordan Hill Community. She had been in ill health a number of years and had just lost her son, Walter Jordan, by drowning the previous week. She was born and reared in the Jordan Hill community and spent her entire life there. Last rites were conducted at 4 p.m. May 14, at the Big Creek Baptist Church with the Rev. Harrison Cockerham, Rev. Glynn Griffin and Mr. Eugene Love officiating. Burial was in the Jordan Hill Cemetery under direction of Southern Funeral Home. Surviving are her husband, J. R. Jordan, one son, Joe B. Jordan, both of Rt. 2, Winnfield; four daughters, Mrs. Laura O'Neal and Mrs. Flora Capps, Rt. 2, Winnfield, Mrs. Lillie Mae Coburn, Georgetown, and Mrs. Maxine McCartney, Alexandria; 13 grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
