Funeral Rites Held For Eli Jordan Held Tuesday

Eli W. Jordan, 84, died Monday, October 24, 1966 in a local nursing home after
a long illness.  

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Big Creek Baptist Church in
the Jordan Hill community with Rev. Willie Broadway officiating.  Burial wasin
Big Creek Cemetery.

He is survived by his widow; four sons, Floyd Jordan of Robeline, Edward
Jordan and Huey Jordan, both of Houston, Texas, and Lonnie Jordan of Dibol,
Texas; four daughters, Mrs. Audrey Banes of Tullos, Mrs. Lennie Bruce of
Georgetown, Mrs. Roxie Green of Metairie, and Mrs. Lena Carr of Pasadena,
Tex.; two brothers, Frank Jordan of West Monroe and Edward Jordan of Bon Weir,
Texas; one sister, Mrs. Ida Johnson of Monroe; 26 grandchildren and 28 great
granchildren.
