Mrs. Farby Jordan of Jordan Hill Succumbs May 24

Mrs. Farby Jordan, 78, a lifelong resident of the Jordan Hill community in
Winn Parish, died at her home Thursday, May 24.  Funeral services were held at
the Jordan Hill Cemetery with Rev. T. T. Edwards, Rev. Homer Coleman, and
Rev. R. T. Long officiating.

Mrs. Jordan was preceded in death by her husband, William Jordan, and her
parents, Mr. and Mrs. Eli Jordan.  She was a devout member of the Big Creek
Baptist Church.

Surviving Mrs. Jordan are four daughters, Mrs. J. R. Smith, Mrs. Wesley 
Jenkins, Mrs. A. C. Maxey, of Jordan Hill, and Mrs. Marion Smith of Rochelle;
four sons, Archie and Arthur Jordan of Jordan Hill, Charley Jordan of Pleasant
Hill, and Houston Jordan of Jonesville; three sisters, Mrs. Susie Radford of
Harrisonburg, Mrs. Scyntha (Cynthia?) Of Georgetown, and Mrs. Armenda Liles of
Monroe; 37 grandchildren and 43 great grandchildren.

Pallbearers, nephews of the deceased, were Ervin Jordan, Lonnie Jordan, Oliver
Keen, Julian Keen, and J. C. Liles.
