Mrs. L. Jordan, Sikes Native, Dies Monday

Funeral services for Mrs. Louisa Beavers Jordan, 82, long time resident and
native of Sikes, who died in a Monroe nursing home Monday morning, February 6,
1967, after a long illness, were held at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Kilpatrick Funeral
Home's West Monroe Chapel.

Graveside services were held at Wright Cemetery near Sikes, at 3:30 p.m.

Survivors included four daughters, Ms. Kyda Burford and Mrs. Lola Harris,
both of West Monroe, Mrs. Leola Lafayette of Lafayette, and Mrs. Quonnie
Arceneaux of Baton Rouge; three sons, Orland Beavers of West Monroe, A. L.
Beavers of Houston, Texas, and D. L. Beavers of Monroe; four brothers, Ivy
Thompson of Winnfield, I. W. Thompson of Oak Grove, Monroe Thompson of Dallas,
Texas, and Jessie Thompson of West Monroe; three sisters, Mrs. Bernice Hatten
of West Monroe, Mrs. Tennessee Johnson of Sikes, and Mrs. Cassie Rainey of
Dallas; 16 grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.

Grandsons served as pallbearers.
