All rights reserved. http://usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://usgwarchives.net/la/lafiles.htm ********************************************** From: February 26, 1948 Winn Parish Enterprise Charlie Jordan, Life Long Winn Resident, Dies Funeral services for Charlie Jordan, 59, who died at the home of his son in the Pleasant Hill Community, Route 2, Winnfield, February 22, were held at the Jordan Hill Baptist Church February 23, with the Baptist pastor and the Rev. H. J. Mott of Winnfield officiating. Burial was in the Jordan Hill Cemetery under the direction of Southern Funeral Home. A lifelong resident of Winn Parish, Mr. Jordan farmed for a livelihood. He was a member of the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church and was a Mason. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Charlie Jordan; four sons, Austin H., Monroe H., Odis O., and Olin, all of Winnfield; one daughter, Mrs. Zelma Brinkley, of Winnfield; three brothers, Arthur J. and Archie, Winnfield; and Houston Jordan of Jonesville; four sisters, Mrs. Emma Smith, Mrs. Tabitha Maxey, Winn Parish, Mrs. Lottie Smith, Winnfield, and Mrs. Maude Jenkins, Robeline. He also leaves nine grandchildren.
