102 Year Old Long Time Resident Dies In Monroe

"Aunt" Susie Jordan, 102 year old former resident of Winn Parish, died in West
Monroe Thursday, December 11.  Final rites were conducted at the Pleasant Hill
Baptist Church at 2 p.m. Friday, with Rev. Harrison Cockerham and Rev. Willie
Broadway officiating.  Burial was in the church cemetery.

Acting as pallbearers were grandsons of the deceased.

Mrs. Jordan had been a resident of the Pleasant Hill Community until several
years ago.  A native of Ellisville, Miss., her birth date was October 12,
1856.  She was married to T. J. Jordan in 1874 and they came to Louisiana to
reside in 1900.  They were the parents of nine children.  Mrs. Jordan was a
long time member of the Baptist Church.

She is survived by four daughters, Mrs. Ernest Roberts and Mrs. Archie Robbins
of West Monroe, Mrs. Johnnie Jordan, Robeline, and Mrs. J. W. Hatten,
Winnsboro; two sons, Jeff Jordan of Route 2, Winnfield, and Breland Jordan of
Sikes.

She also leaves 40 grandchildren, 86 great grandchildren, and 49 great great
grandchildren.
