C. Johns, Tannehill, Set For Friday W. C. "Bill" Johns, 82, long time resident of the Dodson Highway, Tannehill Community, died at 2:45 p.m. June 5, at his residence following an illness of some duration. He was a well known timber man of this area. Mr. Johns was a native of Forest, Miss., and was a member of the Baptist Church. Last rites will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday, June 8, at the Bethlehem Baptist Church, north of Calvin. The Rev. George Foster and the Rev. J. A. Cockerham will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery under direction of Southern Funeral Home. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. W. C. Johns; one daughter, Mrs. Bernice Allen, Winnfield; one son, Leland Johns, Texas City, Texas; five grandchildren; three sisters, Mrs. Bertha Goins, Goldonna, Mrs. Ola Cockerham, Delhi, and Mrs. Hattie Holley, Winnsboro; and one brother, W. E. Johns of Winnsboro.
