Davies Date: 20 June 2004 Source: Winnfield News-American January 21, 1938 J. F. Keen Former Member of School Board Ward 9 Dies Funeral Services Held Tuesday Afternoon At Zion Jake F. Keen, age 76, former school board member from Ward 9, succumbed to a heart attack at his home late Monday afternoon. Mr. Keen had been attending to some work near his place and returned to the house unaccompanied. When his two sons came in sometime later they found him unconscious in the yard. He was moved to his room and in a few minutes died. He is survived by four sons, Earl Keen of Vivian, Dewey, Vernon, and Voyce Keen of Ward 9. Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at four thirty o'clock at the Zion Church and interment made in the church cemetery. The Rev. J. A. Cockerham and the Rev. R. T. Funeral services for Mrs. Henry Keiffer, 35, lifelong resident of the Mt. Zion Community, were held Thursday at the Methodist Church. Rev. J. A. Jones, former pastor, officiated. Burial was in the Mt. Zion Cemetery. Surviving are her husband, two children, William and Earline; her father and stepmother, Mr. and Mrs. Gus Dixon; four brothers, Henry, Charles, and Oscar of Mt. Zion and Tommy of North Carolina; a half sister, Mrs. Pugh McLaren of Mt. Zion ======
