Joe Keiffer Is Buried Apr. 1 At Mt. Zion The Rev. Joseph Guy Keiffer, 51, retired pastor of the Congregational Church of Mansfield, died after a short illness at 5 p.m. Sunday in a Shreveport hospital. He had been a resident of Shreveport for 21 years. Mr. Keiffer was a native of the Wheeling Community, Winn Parish. Last rites were conducted at 3 p.m. Monday at the Mt. Zion Methodist Church with the Rev. Mrs. Lula Wardlow, Rev. H. B. Crammer of Montgomery, and Rev. H. T. Isgitt of Converse officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery. Acting as pallbearers were Earl Johnson, Cheston Stevens, Earl Davison, Asa Martin, James Luther, Frank Fredieu, Bryant Kelley, and J. E. Garner. Honorary pallbearers were E. C. Strickland and Owen Mitchell. Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Ida Buckley Keiffer; a son, Gailen Howard Keiffer of Shreveport; two daughters, Mrs. Donald E. Hamm and Miss Rebecca Jo Keiffer, both of Shreveport; his mother, Mrs. Nettie Keiffer of Montgomery; two brothers, Henry A. and John P. Keiffer, both of Montgomery; three sisters, Mrs. Thelma Rainer and Mrs. Alma Horn, both of Shreveport, and Mrs. Ivey Brooks of Baton Rouge; and one granddaughter.
