Keiffer Buried At Couley Thursday, May 16 John H. Keiffer, 66 year old Winn Parish resident, died at 5 a.m. Wednesday in a local hospital after a lengthy illness. Funeral rites were conducted at 2:30 p.m. Thursday, May 16, at the Couley Methodist Church. Burial was in the church cemetery under direction of Southern Funeral Home. A lifelong resident of Winn Parish, he was a retired farmer and a member of the Couley Methodist Church. Survivors include the widow; four sons, Herschel Keiffer of Houston, Texas, Charles and Leon Keiffer of Winnfield, and Louis Keiffer of Shreveport; three daughters, Mrs. M. C. Smith of Sikes, Mrs. J. N. Lofton of Urania, La., and Miss Bessie Keiffer of Winnfield; three brothers, C. J. Keiffer and N. C. Keiffer of Winnfield, and C. O. Keiffer of Dallas, Texas; two sisters, Mrs. Cordelia McIntyre of Camptil and Mrs. L. Milstead of Winnfield; and ten grandchildren. He also leaves three half brothers, K. E. Keiffer of the Army, K. C. Keiffer of Denver, Colo., and Arthur Keiffer of Pineville.
