Jasper W. Kelly, Gaars Mill, Dies In Monroe July 17

Jasper W. Kelly, 73, lifelong resident of Gaars Mill community, died in a
Monroe hospital July 17, 1949, following an illness of several months. 
Funeral services were conducted July 18, at the Friendship Baptist Church,
with the Rev. Wayne Barton of the Baptist Seminary, New Orleans, officiating.
Burial was in the Friendship cemetery.

The deceased was the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Jim Kelly.  His wife
preceded him in death by 31 years.  He was a member of the Baptist Church.

Surviving are six sons, Troy Lee, Rashel, and Ross of Route 1, Dodson; Stro_s
of Joyce; Homer of Minden; and Rogers of New Orleans; four daughters, Mrs. J.
C. Pesnell of Ruston; Mrs. Elvia Vassaur, Borger, Texas; Mrs. John Wilkerson,
Hodge; and Mrs. Hilton Gorham, Winnfield.

He also leaves four brothers, J. A. Kelly, Jimmy Kelly, Wycliff Kelly, and
Troy Kelly; and three sisters, Mrs. Jim Sanders, Mrs. H. P. Bishop, and Mrs.
John Eldridge; and a number of grandchildren and great grandchildren.
