Kelly Held September 17 Funeral services for George I. Kelly, 82, of Winnfield, who died unexpectedly at 10:30 a.m. September 15, 1961, following a heart attack, were held at 10 a.m. Thursday in the chapel of Southern Funeral Home. Dr. W. L. Holcomb, Rev. C. C. Martin, and Rev. D. W. McDaniel officiated. Burial was in the Kelly Cemetery, located between Hudson and Sikes. Pallbearers were Sam D'Amico, Sr., Sam D'Amico, Jr., Lemmie Nelson, Jack Norred, Frank Crippen, and Dick Beasley. Mr. Kelly was a lifelong resident of Winn Parish, the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. William S. Kelly, pioneer Winn Parish settlers. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Winnfield. Survivors include his widow; three daughters, Mrs. Cecil Alderman and Mrs. E. D. Barham, both of Winnfield, and Mrs. C. C. Hamm, Baton Rouge; one brother, Will Kelly, Hodge; three sisters, Mrs. R. L. Wilson, Winnfield, Mrs. Mary Mott, Pasadena, Calif., and Mrs. Bell Morris, Wichita Falls, Texas; 13 grandchildren and 27 great grandchildren.
