Kelley Dies; Rites Held In Alexandria Funeral services for John Henry Kelley, who died Friday night, October 25, 1968 in the Baptist Hospital in Alexandria after a short illness, were at 3 p.m. Sunday in the chapel of Hixson Brothers Funeral Home in Alexandria. Rev. Robert Gage, pastor of the Presbyterian Church in Winnfield, officiated. Burial was in Greenwood Memorial Park in Pineville. Pallbearers were R. E. McGill, Jr. and Fred Matthews of Baton Rouge, Ed Grigsby and J. W. Riley of Winnfield, R. K. Andrews of Alexandria and Frank McGill of Shreveport. Honorary pallbearers were Dr. R. E. McGill, Sr., Dr. Noel T. Simmonds, Dr. John Rozier, Dr. H. N. Hardy, Dr. John Worley, and Dr. Luther Stewart, all of Alexandria. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Lessie Keene Kelley, a brother, C. E. Kelley, of Alexandria; two sisters, Mrs. Mary K. Wood of Winnfield, Mrs. Annie Lee K. Brosn of Zwolle; five nieces and three newphews. John was a hometown boy, having lived here most of his younger life and was a regular visitor of our city. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge for over fifty years.
