Last Rites Are Conducted For G. H. Kelley, 51
Employee of the T. & G. Railway For 26 Years, Succumbs
        George Howard Buford Kelley, 51 years of age, died at his
home here Monday, January 13, 7:30 p.m., following a long
illness. Funeral services were conducted at the Presbyterian
Church Wednesday afternoon with the Rev. H. B. Hysell, Methodist
pastor in charge. Assisting in the services were Rev. Alwin
Stokes, Presbyterian minister, and Rev. H. H. McBride, Baptist
Minister. Interment was in the Winnfield cemetery. The Masonic
Order had charge of the services at the grave. Acting as
pallbearers were L. C. Carter, Charles Bright, Lee Thomas, R. O.
Mills, Jesse Womack, and J. P. Warren. Born in Lafayette County,
Miss., in April, 1890, Mr. Kelley came to Louisiana in early
manhood and married Miss Lola Bertie Noah. For the past 26 years
he has been employed as painter to the Tremont & gulf Railway
Company. He was a member of the local Masonic organization and
the Macabees. He became ill about a year ago and spent some time
in a Shreveport sanitarium until several weeks ago when he
returned to his home here. Surviving Mr. Kelly are his widow, one
daughter, Mrs. J. R. (Beatrice) Harrison, and six sons, Theodore,
Buford, Howard, Herman, Bobby and Robert. He also leaves one
brother, Elmer Kelley, and one sister, Miss Lonnie Kelley of
Winnfield; and one half sister, Mrs. Ada Fuller of Eros.
