W. Kennedy Thursday, 4 P.M. James Watson Kennedy, Sr., who would have been 66 years of age on July 6, died at his home early Wednesday, July 5, 1967, of an apparent heart attack. He had been wholesale distributor of an oil and gas company for many years. A native of Grant Parish, Mr. Kennedy had resided in Winnfield for more than 30 years. He was a member of the First Baptist Church, Eastern Star Masonic Lodge No.151, F. & A. M., Winnfield Chapter No. 59 Royal Arch Masons, Winnfield Council No. 46, Bethlehem Commandery, No. 20, Palestine Chapter No. 55, Order of the Eastern Star, Knight Commander Court of Honor for Shreveport Scottish Rite Bodies, El Karubah Temple, Shreveport. Funeral services will be conducted at the First Baptist Church at 4 p.m. Thursday with Dr. W. L. Holcomb officiating. Burial will be in the Garden of Memories Cemetery under direction of Hixson Brothers, with Masonic graveside rites. Mr. Kennedy is survived by two sons, J. W. Kennedy, Jr., of Winnfield and Larry Kennedy of Houston, Texas; and four grandchildren.
