B. Kennedy Held In Cypress Creek Died of Pneumonia In Shreveport Sanitarium After Three Weeks Illness Funeral services for C. B. Kennedy, who died in a Shreveport Sanitarium, Saturday, September 14, were held at Cypress Creek Cemetery Sunday. Mr. Kennedy died after three weeks illness with pneumonia. When first taken ill he was brought to Winnfield for treatment, then to Jonesboro and finally to Shreveport. Services were conducted by the Rev. J. D. Kitchingham of Columbia and Rev. Chellette of Jonesboro. Mr. Kennedy joined the Cypress Creek Baptist Church six years ago. He was a kind husband and fond father and had a sunny smile for all. He leaves to mourn him, his wife, Mrs. Dena Walsworth Kennedy, three children, Clorice, Franklin, and Blanchard; his father, L. W. Kennedy, six brothers, Jess Kennedy, Julius Kennedy, Spinks Kennedy, of Winnfield; Tom Kennedy of Chatham; Jack Kennedy of Spearsville; George Kennedy of Cleborn, Texas; and two sisters, Lula Roberts, Dodson, and Lena Duttonham, Palestine, Texas. A host of relatives and friends attended the last rites.
