Kennedy Former Sikes Resident, Is Dead James Thomas Kennedy, 63, of Jonesboro, who lived at Sikes, La., for a number of years, died Sunday night in a Shreveport hospital. He suffered a heart ailment and had been a patient in the hospital for more than four months. Last rites were at the Concord Church near Chatham and interment was in the Concord Cemetery. Rev. O. E. Hearn of Chatham, minister of the Methodist Church, of which Mr. Kennedy was a member, preached the services. The Southern Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. Mr. Kennedy's home was at Chatham, La., from 1901 until 1923, when he moved to Sikes, La., where he lived for ten years before moving to Jonesboro, La. Surviving are his wife, May Cox Kennedy, of Chatham; three sons, Linace Kennedy of Chatham, Lymon Kennedy of Epps, La., and Hedrick Kennedy who is serving in the army overseas; four brothers, Jesse Kennedy of Winnfield, Julius Kennedy of Chatham, La., George Kennedy of Fort Worth, Texas, and C. S. Kennedy of Houston, Texas; two sisters, Mrs. Lena Dettiham of Austin, Texas and Mrs. Lula Robbins of Jonesboro.
