E. Kidd, 89, Dies; Last Rites Tuesday Mrs. Bertha Wallace Kidd, 89, who has made her home in Metairie, Louisiana, for the past number of years, died in that city at 8:45 p.m., Saturday, January 27, 1973. A native of Winnfield, Mrs. Kidd was the daughter of the late Judge J. T. Wallace and Olive Peters Wallace, descendants of pioneer Winn Parish families. She was the widow of the late attorney at law E. E. Kidd. Mrs. Kidd was active in church and civic clubs in Winnfield and usually reported events of these groups for the newspapere. For many years she served as clerk of the First Baptist Church of Winnfield of which she was a member. In her early years she was a school teacher. At the time of her retirement she was executive secretary of the Winn Parish Unit of the American Red Cross. Last rites were conducted in the chapel of Southern Funeral Home Tuesday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Calvin Phelps officiating. Burial was in the Winnfield cemetery. Acting as pallbearers were great nephews Cas Moss III, Stuart Storey, V. M. Russell, Jr., Bill Willis, Tommy Wallace, Jimmy Smith, Jimmy Russell, Luther Moore. Surviving is one daughter, Mrs. W. Lloyd (Olive Ann) Rau of Metarie. Among local survivors are two nephews, Dr. John T. Mosley and Casimer Moss, and one niece, Mrs. Ophelia Storey, and a host of other relatives.
