Grandson Of Local Resident Dies In Ruston

Funeral services for Hugh Kelton Kilgore, 19, of Ruston were held at 10 a.m.
Tuesday in the Spears Funeral Home Chapel in Ruston with the Rev. Webber
Walker officiating.

Burial was in the Greenwood Cemetery.

The Kilgore youth was killed around 4:30 p.m. Sunday, October 28, 1973, in a
car-motorcycle collision on Kentucky Street in Ruston.

According to Ruston police, a car occupied by four juveniles turned left into
the path of the motorcycle Kilgore was riding.  Police would not release the
names of the juveniles involved.

However, police said no charges had been filed pending further investigation
by juvenile authorities.  Police said the sun was in the eyes of the juvenile
driving the car.

The Kilgore youth was a 1971 graduate of Ruston High School.

He is survived by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Kilgore of Ruston; one
sister, Miss Melonn Kilgore of Ruston; maternal grandmother, Mrs. J. L.
Ferguson of Winnfield; and paternal grandmother, Mrs. M. D. Kilgore of Dubach.
