All rights reserved. http://usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://usgwarchives.net/la/lafiles.htm ********************************************** From: June 2, 1966 Winn Parish Enterprise-News American Wreck Is Fatal To Winnfield Negro Teacher Billy Gene Kimble, 32 year old Negro instructor at the Trout School for Colored, was killed Wednesday night of last week when he lost control of his car and crashed on La. 127 near Olla. State Police said Kimble was alone in the car when it left the road on a curve and hit a tree. He was a native of Winnfield and a graduate of Pinecrest High and Grambling College, and was working on his Master's Degree at Indiana University, Bloomington, Indiana. Final rites were held at Morning Star Baptist Church, Winnfield, at 11 a.m. Monday, with burial in the Winnfield Colored Cemetery, with Masonic rites. Surviving are his wife, Alma Duncan Kimble; one son, Frederick Earl Kimble; and mother, Velma Weatherford, all of Winnfield; father, Kaiser Kimble, Lufkin, Texas; and a number of brothers and sisters.
