KIRKLAND BURIED SEPT. 3RD AT CYPRESS CREEK Last rites for Mrs. Lennie Kirkland, 75, who died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Rawson Taylor, at Gansville Sunday, were held at the Gansville Baptist Church of which she was a member, Monday, Sept. 3, at 4 p.m., with Rev. Paul Hammond officiating, assisted by Rev. A.D. Foster and Rev. A.W. Cavenaugh. Burial was in the Cypress Creek cemetery. Acting as pallbearers were Cecil Martin, Edmond Jackson, Charlie Loe, C.A. Robbins, Alton Martin and Johnnie Jackson. Mrs. Kirkland was a member of a pioneer family of Winn parish. She was the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. James M. Jackson, and the widow of the late John Kirkland of Gansville. She suffered a stroke four months ago. Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Rawson Taylor of Dodson; Mrs. D.F. Whitehead of Shreveport; one son, W.G. Kirkland of Jonesboro; four sisters, Mrs. J.H. Martin, Mrs. Jennie McLean and Miss Prentice Jackson of Winnfield; and Mrs. Ella Drummonds of Hodge; one brother, Sam Jackson of Winnfield, and three grandchildren.
